How does it work?
SQL Farm Combine™ offers a rich editor to write the SQL scripts and database code
and then test the entire software update against your in-house infrastructure in one click.
With every software upgrade,
database scripts are packages into a single code package file. This file contains
all the SQL code as well as intuitive instruction to tell Combine how
to deploy the code.
Once you compose and test the rollout against your server(s), you can embed SQL Farms'
redistributable components in your software application or installation.
After the installer is sent to the end-user, your software installer calls
SQL Farms' components to automatically push the changes to all the appropriate
target databases and servers at the client site without any agents or remote installations
on the client's databases and servers.

Mapping scripts to logical groups of databases
During development, each script in your release is mapped to a logical group
of one or more target databases, on any number of SQL servers. When you execute
the code package each script is run against all the databases in the group.
Mapping scripts to logical groups therefore offers complete portability of database code,
as logical groups in different IT environments can point to different
physical databases and servers.

Optional: Get deployment results from clients for verification
SQL Farm Combine™ is operable to save all deployment and code-execution
results, including the data returned, execution plans, informational
messages, and much more. After deployment, remote end-users can provide
you with a complete report to verify the deployment outcome.

|
100% security
The authentication type and credentials used to deploy code at the remote
customer site can be configured by the user, or you can set them before the release
or in run-time. SQL Farm Combine™ can be instructed to use the active directory
and Windows authentication, or use a SQL login and password.
On top, if you deploy code to several groups of target databases and servers,
you can instruct the tool to use different credentials for each group.

|
100% portability
Code packages as well as deployment results can be easily transferred between
different IT environments and networks. Portability is expressed when passing
code packages to your staging environment and QA team, as well as to remote
users.
|
|
No remote installations
SQL Farm Combine™ offers light-weight redistributable components
(all files together are less than 1.3MB) and does not require any special prerequisites
at remote customer sites. Moreover, your software installer can be placed
on any machine in the remote client network.
|
|
No server registration
SQL Farm Combine™ does not require SQL server registration.
The redistributable components allow remote users or your software installer
to point and click to the appropriate target databases and then automatically
deploy the code.
|
|
Zero footprint
SQL Farm Combine™ does not leave any footprint on databases, servers, or remote
client machines. After deployment is completed, SQL Farms' components
can be removed and do leave any trails or marks after the execution.
